Volterra Dental, preciously known as Dr. Art Laos and Associates, has a rich history in comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry.
They opened their doors in 1992 and have been providing their community with not only basic dental care but extensive dentistry since.
Dr. Arthur Laos has been practicing dentistry since 1984 and has built his practice “on the desire to provide superb dentistry that creates dazzling smiles of lasting beauty in a comfortable and caring environment” according to their website.
He received his dental degree at the University of Southern California Dental School after completing his undergrad at Stanford University.
To help meet the needs of their patients, Dr. Laos has recently added two new dentist to his team; Dr. Ribha Saggar and Dr. Patrick Yoshikane.
“We always have done basic dentistry but now we’re able to offer some of the specialty dentistry,” said Carol Laos, the practice administrator, when referring to the two new doctors.
The Volterra staff works hard at being not only accommodating to their patients but also to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Dr. Laos decided to move his practice from Long Beach to Los Alamitos back in 1992 due to the beautiful views that the new office offered to his patients.
Carol said they noticed a lot of their loyal patients were resistant to the thought of having to seek out a different dental office if they needed extended care since, at the time, they didn’t offer procedures like root canals. So with their patients concerns in mind, they hired more doctors to accommodate their needs. But with the addition of new doctors also came a new name Volterra.
The name was created after Dr. Arthur and Carol Laos were on a trip to Italy and visited a town called Volterra, which means “strong rooted”. Carol said that the new name shows strength and fits perfectly for the dental office due to how rooted they are in the community.
Volterra is well-known for being a local family dentistry that provides the utmost care to their patients through general, cosmetic, and extended dental care.
“We see patients from three to 103,” said Laos. “I think we have a patient that is 105!”
Dr. Laos values constantly continuing his education and training in his field to help better his patients. He has had extended clinical training in the areas of smile make overs, full mouth rehabilitation and the study of occlusion at Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education.
“(Dr. Laos) has other dentists send people to him because he has had extensive training … so he is very good at that,” said Carol.
